Description
The end-use properties of polyester fibres and yarns depend
strongly on the spinning process applied, as well as on the
spinning speed and surface finishing of the cord and yarns. The
following three pictures illustrate typical PET processes and the
influences of processing on the fiber properties. In figure below
the melt spinning process and finished yarn take-up are described.
The most popular and one of the earliest uses of polyester was to
make polyester suits – all the rage in the 70s. Polyester clothes
were very popular. Due to its strength and tenacity polyester was
also used to make ropes in industries. PET bottles are today one of
the most popular uses of polyester. Nowadays, PET polyester used in
yarn industry for different sewing yarns and threads.
